John goes in to help run this meeting with Rev Janice Gourdie who is the chaplain of the 6th form college in Pwllheli. There are 4 committed Christians who attend, and they recently decided to do an Easter outreach in the college –which was very successful. The had a stand in the reception of the college and had students fill out questionnaires about their views and thoughts on Christianity. They managed to get 130 students to fill out the questionnaires as well as hand out the same amount of welsh and English gospels too! It’s been amazing to see 4 very quiet students, stand up for their faith and put themselves in the firing line of their fellow students.
Ysgol Botwnnog
We have two girls from year 10 who are there every week and those that bob in and out from time to time. These two girls are very inquisitive and have many questions about God and the Bible and come back week after week with more questions and ready to learn. It’s been really lovely being able to meet with them every week, and encouraging them in school, as from time to time they find it difficult being in school.
Glan y Môr
4 boys attend this meeting, and we have great chats with them about life, school and things that they are struggling with. We’ve been doing mini Bible studies with them from time to time, and it seems to really work for them.
Ysgol Eifionydd
This is a well established meeting that’s been running for many years now, and was originally set up by a group of students who attended the school. We now run in alongside Andrew Bradley, an elder from Cricieth Family Church, and we have a very solid group attending now. The majority are from Christian families, and so it’s been a great encouragement working with them and being able to go a little deeper into the Bible. One of the things that we are in the process of working with them on is for 3 meeting of the month to be us leading it for them, and then for one meeting a month to be led by them as a way of outreaching to their friends.
