A turn around in Trobwynt

Well, first things first. Trobwynt is going to be having a little bit of a shuffle around over the next couple of months. This is due to that fact that John has now got a new job, and will be working for Scripture Union as the co-ordinator for Wales. We are very sad to say goodbye to John, but also very excited to see him develop into a new role, and working alongside and supporting the work of Trobwynt. Hopefully we will be able to partner up with John on a few projects, and John will still be involved in the arranging and leading of the boys football tournament on the Llyn. This means that Rachel will now be a full time worker for Trobwynt, and will continue to work with all the groups that are already running. We know that God has had His hand in all of this, and are really excited to see God working throughout Wales and continuing the work that He has started in this area.

Please pray for John and Rachel as they embark on working in different roles, and please pray that God would raise up more volunteers for the groups.

CIC Alffa

All of our CIC groups have been going very well over last term, and at the start of this term. We now have a CIC in Y Ffor, Morfa Nefyn, Criccieth, Llithfaen and a youth group in St Peter’s Pwllheli. We have a second group in Morfa Nefyn called CIC Alffa, which is for those in year 9 up who want to go a little deeper into the Bible, and want tof ind some sore out about Christianity. We’ve been following the DVDr esource Soul (the good book company) and have been really encouraged by the turn out of the youngp eople, the excitement and questions they have, and the challenges that studying this together had brought. One of the weeks is based on Grace, and one of the youth asked us, how do I get to go to Heaven and be with God? It’s such an awesome privilage to be able to work with these young people, and just see the way that God is working in their hearts and slowly changing them.

Day of Prayer

In February we had a really encouraging day of prayer for the areas of Llyn and Eifionydd, joining in

with many people all over Wales praying for their areas over that week. We prayedspecifically for all the different villages and for the churches, chapels, schools and work that was going on within the community. It was great to have 38 people come throughout the day to lift up their village and to really pray for the people there. Many people were blessed by having this time together, and we are looking to do another day like this at some point in the near future.

Tudweiliog Children’s Club

The kids club in Tudweiliog has been great fun over the last term and a half, and we’ve had many of the kids from the school attending. This last 3 part series we looked at 3 parables, and it has been great to see the understanding the stories, remembering them from Sunday school, and having the ask some very good questions about God and Jesus. It is so much fun being able to work with them and see even really young kids getting excited about the Bible.

Three from the USA visits Llithfaen

Three young ladies from the USA came to Llithfaen to tell the children and young people why Jesus Christ is importent to them! The three stayed with Peter & Lis James in Tabor. During the week they helped in the childrens club and the special events ran for the youth of the area.

Coleg Meirion Dwyfor Pwllhel

Coleg Meirion Dwyfor Pwllheli

John goes in to help run this meeting with Rev Janice Gourdie who is the chaplain of the 6^th form college in Pwllheli. There are 4 committed Christians who attend, and they recently decided to do an Easter outreach in the college –which was very successful. The had a stand in the reception of the college and had students fill out questionnaires about their views and thoughts on Christianity. They managed to get 130 students to fill out the questionnaires as well as hand out the same amount of welsh and English gospels too! It’s been amazing to see 4 very quiet students, stand up for their faith and put themselves in the firing line of their fellow students.

Ysgol Botwnnog

We have two girls from year 10 who are there every week and those that bob in and out from time to time. These two girls are very inquisitive and have many questions about God and the Bible and come back week after week with more questions and ready to learn. It’s been really lovely being able to meet with them every week, and encouraging them in school, as from time to time they find it difficult being in school.

Glan y Môr

4 boys attend this meeting, and we have great chats with them about life, school and things that they are struggling with. We’ve been doing mini Bible studies with them from time to time, and it seems to really work for them.

Ysgol Eifionydd

This is a well established meeting that’s been running for many years now, and was originally set up by a group of students who attended the school. We now run in alongside Andrew Bradley, an elder from Cricieth Family Church, and we have a very solid group attending now. The majority are from Christian families, and so it’s been a great encouragement working with them and being able to go a little deeper into the Bible. One of the things that we are in the process of working with them on is for 3 meeting of the month to be us leading it for them, and then for one meeting a month to be led by them as a way of outreaching to their friends.
